Apakah nilai pekerjaan anda?

Artikel yang agak panjang dan tidak berapa pasti sumbernya tetapi intipatinya mengingatkan kita tentang tujuan kehidupan ini.

NILAI SEBUAH PEKERJAAN

“Kenapa anda mahu jadi doktor?”, saya melemparkan soalan ini, selepas mempertontonkan kepada pelajar di IMU tadi video dari koleksi Stephen R. Covey.

Pelajar yang hadir tersenyum-senyum.

“Sebab minat biologi?”, saya bertanya.

Ramai yang ketawa. Itu mungkin alasan semasa di Tingkatan 4 dahulu.

Feel the heat

The system that I am supporting hit a serious issue since last week. Being the sole person who is responsibility of fixing it, I am so terrified and worried I even dreamed of the solution but alas, the solution is not the one I seek for. Hmm, maybe that was a déjà vu for a different issue in the future

Boy, this is a very, very huge task. A person in my position doesn’t usually get this kind of ‘mission’. This is my first solo ‘expedition’ to the desired outcome. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack; you have all the clues you need yet you just can’t pin point the root cause of the problem. This issue is giving impact to the whole local site and if I failed, I will fail my boss who is counting on me (while at the same time assisting me in many ways). Worst of all, I will fail myself because I will feel how unreliable I am.
